The poodle is among the world’s most popular breeds

It was a 19th century dog for German hunting needs

They’re known to move through water quite efficiently

Their hair is strongly corded, harsh, dense and curly

Poodles are solid-colored in black, grey, tan, or blue

Or brown, silver, or apricot, white, or cream colored too

There’s the standard sized, miniature, and the toy type

The difference between the three is based upon their height

The standard sized is usually over 15 inches tall

The toy’s height, 10 inches or less, makes it rather small

Between 11 to 15 inches tall is the miniature

They’re adorable, active, alert, and make great pets for sure

Poodles have a level of intelligence-for they are very docile

And acting as family watch dogs, they’re quite exceptional

They develop a family bond, a bond that’s very strong

And for children and even pets, they learn to get along

They tend to bark a lot at people they don’t know

And always want something to do, they hate to sit idle

Their coat is hypoallergenic; sheds little if any hair

Which should be brushed frequently, one must be aware

To keep them clean, poodles must be bathed frequently

The ears and eyes of this dog must be cleaned regularly

Its owner periodically must trim their poodle’s claws

And the hair around the ears and eyes and also the paws

The poodle loves to play and needs lots of exercise

Or behavioral problems may develop, one must realize

Poodles live up to 15 years, they’re typically healthy

But are prone to develop progressive retinal atrophy

Many get hip Dysplasia, heart problems, or epilepsy

Hypothyroidism, ear infections, also diabetes

But if you enjoy a smaller dog that’s easy to control

And one who’s a great family pet, consider a poodle

SEE THE VIDEO:

Border collies love to learn and execute new skills

Once you give one tasks to do, it does them with great will

They have great drive and focus and are eager to work hard

Because they love to run, they need to have a large backyard

They need lots of attention and lots of exercise

Hence, cooping one inside the house too long is very unwise

Keep them active and challenged and don’t let them get bored

If they are cooped up too long, they’ll destroy things for sure

To owners they are loving, respecting and loyal

But they are suspicious towards people they don’t know

Collies only tend to bark if there’s trouble about

But they’re quiet and well-mannered without a doubt

An owner must be firm and discipline them too

If a collie sense that you’re weak, he’ll walk all over you

Collies are quite intelligent and very much docile

They are natural-born athletes that are very agile

For they need firm owners who can devote their time

To train and stimulate them in their bodies and their minds

Enroll collies in classes in agility and flyball

For it is stimulating games that they love most of all

They are quite alert with a good sense of direction

And are among the best in drug and bomb detection

Because they are well-behaved, gentle and so kind

They can assist the handicapped and also guide the blind

It’s from 12 to 15 years of age the collie hangs around

Some grow to 21 inches tall and as large as 50 pounds

It has a wedge-shaped head and a flat-topped skull

Its eyes are almond-shaped, dark brown, with arched eyebrows

Their outer coat is rough, and their inner coat is smooth

They need combing every 8 weeks after a thorough shampoo

Yes collies are great company and they are lots of fun

But not necessarily the best breed of dog for everyone

Although they are brilliant and a sweet loving pet

They can become quite destructive if their needs aren’t met

So if you handled lots of dogs and have in depth experience

Having a collie as a pet may probably make good sense

Such a dog will rule the house if you allow him to

They are fearless, rash, and clever, it’s true

A Dachshund likes to dig and also burrow

He’ll hide under piles of blankets and pillows

A Dachshund is playful, he’ll chase a ball

But sometimes won’t even bring it back at all

Their sense of smell is strong, and so it’s told

They can pick up on scents that are 3 weeks old

Dachshunds hear 4 times better than humans do

But sensitive to high-pitched tones and music too

These dogs see better further away than up close

And can see well when lighting conditions are low

They’re a dog and a half long with short legs indeed

Of all hunting dogs, Dachshunds are the smallest breed

And they love to dig in the most precarious way

As they attempt to corner and attack their prey

They’re a social animal that loves to be touched

They love to be petted and played with so much

If you need a great protector for your family

Everything in his sight is becomes his territory

And all that his owner does, he needs to know

One will follow you around wherever you go

They like lots of affection, it is playing they love

And are fond of children that don’t play too rough

Dachshunds are prone to developing back injuries

So if you carry one around, hold it properly

Use harness, not a collar-keep one on a leash

Never ever let them run loosely on the streets

Just because of the fearless creatures they are

They will run out in traffic and get hit by a car

But if you love a hunting dog that is playful and fun

You should definitely consider owning a Dachshund

With much room to exercise, and explore

They’re outgoing, docile, and relaxed

They’ll sit close but not on your lap

Ragdolls dislike being handled rough

But like their bellies scratched by those they trust

They love companions who are kind

They tolerate calm, gentle dogs just fine

Their coats are semi-long, silky and plush

The facial hair is short, but longer on the ruff

Their bodies are large, medium to long

Heavy boned and firm, and very strong

Some have fatty bags on their abdomens

As referred to as their greater omentum

Their medium-long legs are heavily boned

And their length to their size is proportional

Their tails are as long as their torsos

And taper like a plume as so it goes

They have large, round, broad shaped heads

Much like the shape of a modified wedge

With well rounded muzzles and puffy cheeks

Their well-built chins make them quite sleek

Adult males might have jowls too

Their slightly slanted oval-shaped eyes

Are well set apart and large in size

Wide-based, round-tipped as they appear

Just twice a week grooming for their hair

Brush their teeth biweekly for dental care

Provide cat scratchers, cat gyms, and toys

And a cat-friendly environment without noise

So if you’re a kind and gentle cat lover

You’ll enjoy having a Ragdoll for sure

Their shiny, lustrous coat, is ticked and rather thin

Some are chocolate, copper, red, cream or silver

At only six weeks old, they develop dark ticked fur

The Abyssinian’s head is shaped almost like a wedge

And have a marking like an “M” on their forehead

Their big almond shaped eyes are so easily seen

And their eye color can be copper, hazel, or green

Their ears are arched slightly, alert, and pointing up

The base of their ears is wide and is slightly cupped

Adult Abyssinians weigh between 8 and 17 pounds

And their life expectancy is from 9 to 15 years long

Abyssinian kittens are active, much independent

Extroverted, curious, friendly, and confident

They are usually busy and likewise on the move

Playing with cat toys, keeps them quite amused

They’re gentle and affectionate, so let it be known

They dislike confined areas or being left alone

To like to play in family sports or play a fetching game

If the owner does the fetching, he will be well trained

It is cabinets, shelves, and trees that they love to climb

Athletic and gymnastic is this agile feline

They’re intelligent, playful, with a natural beauty

And usually good-natured with a sense of loyalty

They prefer older children or company of adults

It’s mainly preschool children they’d rather do without

Don’t keep them in an apartment, it is too confined

An open yard to exercise is best for this feline

This feline is low maintenance, since they groom themselves

To ensure healthy fur, a weekly brushing helps

But if you have no companion or someone to play with

You’re surely likely will enjoy having an Abyssinian

It’s important to know how these dogs were raised

And their health, uniformity, and character traits

You don’t want one who’s aggressive or one that’s shy

Get details of their history right before you buy

Good dealers stand behind their standards and norms

And have pictures of its parents and document forms

Because slapping and scolding makes one scared and weak

Boxers use body language to communicate

And to human being messages, they quickly relate

Good trainers can use this dog’s intelligence

To train them to be happy and obedient

The more fun training is, the faster they will learn

Clicker training offers praise and rewards they can earn

The boxer’s handsome and athletic and he is known

To love children and to be a good companion at home

Boxers were guard dogs during the First World War

They were hunters and dog fighters, but not anymore

They were also used as leaders to guide the blind

And also used as police assisting service canines

Adult dogs have a height up to 25 inches tall

And typically weigh between 53 and 70 pounds

Their muzzles are short and blunt with a distinct stop

And their ears set up high, falling forward or cropped

Their noses are large, dark brown are their eyes

Their tails are docked and set up high

Their coats are fawn or brindle with markings of white

Their rear legs are extra strong and spread apart wide

In cold weather they become chilled very quickly

And overheat in hot weather rather easily

They must get outdoors daily for brisk exercise

Or they may become destructive, one must realize

If they see you’re a good leader, you’ll be a success

Or they’ll become stubborn, demanding, and boisterous

You’ll find the boxer is loving and affectionate too

If you don’t mind a challenge, one may be right for you

Is a lazy couch potato who prefers to stay home

He is friendly, calm, gentle and good-natured

But a very hard dog to train for sure

He’s an entertaining dog to have around

He’ll make you laugh when he acts like a clown

He craves lots of attention and loving too

And boy does the bulldog love to chew

He’ll chew anything he can get is paws on

And his love for children, he builds a strong bond

He’s the hardest to train of all dog breeds

So much time and patience is what he needs

His learning rate is slow-not so intelligent

He can be stubborn and disobedient

A bulldog has short legs and is rather wide

Deep set are the bulldog’s dark, round eyes

His rose-colored ears are thin and set up high

And his cheeks extend to the edges of his eyes

And rather large nostrils on his big black nose

And his excess skin on his forehead folds

His short, flat coat is straight, glossy and smooth

A bulldog’s coat comes in many colors too

As many shades of brindle or pale-yellow

Piebald, white, fawn, red, or fallow

Adult bulldogs grow up to 16 inches tall

And can weigh as much as 55 pounds

Bulldogs are ideal for apartment life

And are sensitive to extreme temperatures outside

In very hot weather they tend to overheat

In the cold they become chilled so easily

The bulldog should be taken for a walk each day

Or behavioral problems will develop per se

When they’re young they have lots of energy

But grow tired as they age so gracefully

So if you’re firm but patient and can take the lead

You might have the traits that this canine needs

They slobber when they drink, and eat messily

When they snore late at night they snore loudly

But if you’re patient and love dog affection too

Having a bulldog as a pet may be right for you.

And grow to be 21 to 25 inches tall

They have a long, silky, waterproof undercoat

They come in cream or shades of gold

Some coats are curly while others are straight

They have a bit of a distinctive head shape

The owner of one must surely know

Their friendly way of saying “hello”

They wag their tails and prance around

While toting a toy and making soft sounds

Golden retrievers shed a lot of fur

Mainly in spring and fall for sure

Hence, every day they should be brushed

To keep them clean and prevent dust

Brush behind the their ears and do not fail

To brush the hindquarters and under their tails

They’re intelligent and confident too

And gentle as they try to please you

They’re easy going and comical

And all their lives, they’re quite playful

Their love for people is quite strong

As they don’t like being alone too long

They get along with animals of all kinds

And when with strangers, they don’t mind

They adore children, with great love

And don’t mind being handled rough

Their wagging tails are quite strong

Known to knock little toddlers down

They’ll play in the water or in the snow

And keep warm with their two thick coats

Their bark is minimal and nothing more

Mostly when someone’s at the door

They’re larger than some other breeds

And can be expensive to feed

But if outdoor fun is your main leisure

You’ll love to own a Golden retriever

They’re a little dog with a big personality
They’re affectionate and love to cuddle indeed
This dog is feisty, alert, and inquisitive
And with other dogs, they can be aggressive
They love physical contact and affection, as so
One will follow his owner just like a shadow
They’re determined with a pray drive that is high
And will chase down creatures that scurry by
They’re alert with a great amount of energy
And boisterous and bossy as a dog can be
They tend to get along with strangers well
But with children and animals, it’s hard to tell
The Yorkshire terrier is easy to train
They learn commands quickly which they retain
A kind, firm leader is what it takes
To control them and to housebreak
They’re great watch dogs, but overprotect
And ready to fight danger they detect
A Yorkshire terrier never sheds
Or leaves hair on your furniture or bed
Their coat must be trimmed every month
And weekly combing, much more than once
Their heads are small, flat on top too
Their long-haired coats are tan or blue
They have long hairs, glossy and fine
Which fall nicely to either side
They’re rather small, about toy sized
They have medium, dark-rimmed eyes
Their feet are round with black toenails
Erect and V-shaped are their tails
In large, fenced in yards they love to romp
And must be taken on daily walks
They make great urban pets for sure
These sweet, loving Yorkshire terriers
